The Malaysian Nature Society Kuching Branch (MNSKB) and Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd will hold the second Eco-Fashion Competition in conjunction with Santubong Nature Festival.

A press release said the competition, to be held at Permai Rainforest Resort, will promote the concept of recycle, reduce and reuse; raise awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental sustainability; and create an opportunity for creative individuals or groups
to develop and showcase their green ideas.

Open to students aged 15 and above for free, entries can involve groups of three or individuals.

Each school, college or university is allowed to send in more than one entry.

Entries must be based on fashion designs using recyclable materials such as plastic bags, used paper, plastic bottles, scraps of old fabric, wire, metal or anything else that is usually thrown away.

Designs can also involve accessories made from recycled materials.

At least 70 per cent of the entry must be made using discarded, used or recyclable items.

For details go to http://santubongnaturefestival.blogspot.com, or contact Trienekens’ Janet Balong on 082-610700 or [email protected], or MNSKB ([email protected]).
