Kah Ching and Dianne claim grand prizes

MIRI: Lee Kah Ching of Miri Gold Club (KGM) walked away with the Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam challenge trophy, cash money and a return Malaysia Airlines (MAS) ticket to Bangkok in the 54 hole gross category of the 26th KGM Amateur Open Gold Championship held at KGM here yesterday.

Runner-up was Malcolm Adam Tay Kunjin while third placing went to Asri Sim Khalid.

In the 36 hole nett category, Peter Gon also of KGM finished first followed by Esaw Mikir and Shangara Sivabalu.

The Ladies 54 hole gross title was claimed by Dianne Luke who lifted the Datin Patinggi Puan Sri Datuk Lorna Enan Mulun Chan challenge trophy after she finished with a score of 221.

Alethea Cordelia (244) and Jaclyn Chen (252) were second and third.

In the 36 hole nett category, Masturah Mustapha Tan emerged champion with a score of 144 while Eliza Mae Kho was runner-up with 148.

The championship took place from Sept 19-21.

Among those present at the prize presentation yesterday were KGM president Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam and his wife who is also a patron at KGM Datin Patinggi Puan Sri Datuk Lorna Enan Mulun Chan, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) former president Tan Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui and SUPP secretary- general Datuk Sebastian Ting.
