KUCHING: Two men were yesterday sentenced to life imprisonment and given 10 lashes each for robbing a student at gunpoint.
The accused– Mohd Azlan, 29, and Mohd Luzhaski, 24 – were attempting to rob a foreign student near Kenny Hills at about 8.20am on Jan 13.
The duo was later arrested by the police when they tried to break the window of a car in the Satok area.
They were subsequently charged under the Arms Act apart from being charged with theft and burglary.
On April 2, the first and second accused were sentenced to eight years in jail and to be given 10 and 12 lashes respectively for possessing a gun and bullets.
