The machine that employs red light technology to promote hair growth in males was given the green light by the FDA last week for over the counter sales.

iGrow Hair Growth System is intended for men whose hair loss patterns fall into categories IIa through V on the Hamilton-Norwood hair loss scale. This covers anything from a visibly receding hairline to a sort of medium-level hair loss in which the person may have a medium-sized bald spot in the middle of his head.
The device uses non-invasive Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and claims to have no side effects. It strengthens hair follicles and generates cellular rejuvenation.
Using iGrow for three to four non-consecutive days per week, says the company’s webpage, will result in gradual growth within a 16- to 24-week period, although individual results may vary.
Clinical trials of iGrow have been promising, reportedly demonstrating a 39 percent hair growth in one case.
The iGrow can be ordered online or purchased over the counter from select retail stores for $695.
iGrow is available in 40 countries worldwide, including Mexico, throughout the EU, China, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey. -AFP/ Relaxnews
