Miss Universe Malaysia audition at Novotel today

KOTA KINABALU: In search of Miss Universe Malaysia 2015, the Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation (MUMO) is holding a walk-in audition at Novotel 1Borneo here today (Sept 27).

Calling on all aspiring beauty queens in East Malaysia, MUMO is taking the audition nearer to the people of Sabah and Sarawak for the first time after the last audition held in Sabah eight years ago.

According to its director, Datuk Dr Kelvin Tan, the audition today is the second and last audition in search of the Top 16 beauty queens to compete for the crown in a reality television show to be broadcasted on 8TV, with the first audition held in Kuala Lumpur, recently.

More than a hundred hopefuls showed up for the audition in Kuala Lumpur, and Tan is expecting over 80 people to audition for the Miss Universe Malaysia title from East Malaysia, today.

The audition will be held today from 10am to 5pm at Novotel 1Borneo here, open to all non-Muslim Malaysian females aged between 18 to 26 years as of February 2015, with a minimum height of 165cm.

“The Miss Universe Malaysia title holder can expect a life-changing experience once she wears the crown. As Miss Universe Malaysia, she will carry the title wherever she goes and automatically become a public figure.

“She will have a platform to brand herself and carry out what she is passionate about,” said National Director of MUMO, Carey Ng during a press conference held here, yesterday.

The local pageant for Miss Universe Malaysia 2015 will be held in Kuala Lumpur in April 2015. The crowned winner will have the opportunity to travel abroad to represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe pageant which will be held in the later part of next year.

Additionally, the winner will also receive a cash prize of RM48,000 and sponsored prizes worth over RM100,000.
