KUCHING: A security guard at the Kuching High Court complex in Petra Jaya was found dead by his colleague when he was on duty last Saturday night.

The lifeless body of John Kennedy, 43, from Siol Kandis, was found inside the security post.

When met at the Sarawak General Hospital, the colleague said he first thought John had only fainted but then immediately contacted police and paramedics.

It was claimed that John was already dead for a few hours before the grim find by his colleague.

John was working on a duty shift from 8am until 8pm.

The deceased’s relatives said that John, a bachelor, had complained to them of being sick but did not go for a medical check prior to his demise.

The body was sent to the Sarawak General Hospital for a post-mortem before being claimed by his family for burial.

Police have classified the case as sudden-death.

In an unrelated case, a Sabahan student who was sent to hospital on Saturday night, broke out in an aggressive spell, prompting some to believe that he might be possessed by a demon spirit.

In the incident that occurred around 9.50pm, the student of a local skills college was said to have suddenly rushed out from the ward.

A hospital staff tried to stop him but failed due to the student’s “extraordinary strength”.

It was also learnt that when he calmed down, he had to be strapped to his bed.

His friends said that the victim was believed to have been “possessed” as he was acting strangely for few days before the incident at the ward.

He was warded at the hospital initially after claiming of having chest pains.
