KUCHING: The High Court here yesterday fixed Oct 30 for the pre-trial case management of a fishmonger facing the death penalty for two counts of murder.

During the mention of the case yesterday, Zulkipli Abdullah, 23, appeared before Justice Datuk Rhodzariah Bujang.

He is charged with killing two British medical students who were here for work placement.

The judge yesterday ordered the accused to be placed on further remand as murder is a non-bailable offence.

The court also ordered him to engage a lawyer to represent him. DPP Mirza Mohamad appeared for the prosecution.

Zulkipli is accused of murdering Aidan Brunger and Neil Dalton, both 22, at Abell Road between 4.10am and 4.15am on Aug 6.

He was arrested on the same day along with five other suspects.
