Employer stabbed, hacked to death

LAHAD DATU: Police solved a murder within three hours with the arrest of a 25-year-old Indonesian man who allegedly stabbed and hacked his boss.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner of Police Hamzah Ahmad said the victim was identified as Mohamad Bin Tuaran, 41.

Hamzah said they received a tip-off from the public who found the victim lying in a pool of blood under a house at Kampung Dewata, Jalan Lahad Datu-Kunak at about 6am.

“The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but was pronounced dead at the hospital. Further inspection on the victim found several wounds on his stomach and arms, believe to be stabbed and hacked.

“Following the incident, we have immediately launched Ops Tutup to track down the suspect and managed to arrest the suspect about 10.15am about two kilometres from the scene,” he said when contacted yesterday.

According to Hamzah, the suspect was wearing a blood-stained shirt at the time of arrest and they also seized a machete, believe to be used in the murder.

Hamzah added that the suspect was now under their custody and remanded for further investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the death penalty upon conviction.
