SEMPORNA: The Marine Police (PPM) detained three foreign nationals and seized 525 litres of subsidised patrol, believed to be smuggled to a neighbouring country, from a pump boat in waters north of Pulau Mataking yesterday.

Sabah PPM Commander ACP Mohamad Madun said PPM members conducting ‘Op Taring’ in the area spotted the boat acting suspiciously and intercepted it at about 3.30 pm.

They searched the boat and found 21 plastic containers containing 525 liters of subsidised petrol, he said in a statement here today.

Mohamad said the three men, aged between 20 and 30, were without any identification document. — BERNAMA
