Sarikei set to host KPS Sarawak Cup

KUCHING: Futsal enthusiasts might want to make the trip to Sarikei this week for the KPS Sarawak Cup tournament which kicks off today (Oct 1).

12 men and 12 women teams will fight for honours at the three-day state-level futsal competition.

Hosts Sarikei will have four teams while the other teams are Kuching, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Kapit, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang.

Kuching are the defending champions for both the men’s and women’s categories.

The tournament, for Malaysians aged 19 years and below, takes place at the Sarikei Sports Complex.

It is jointly organised by the Ministry of Social Development and Sarikei Resident Office with the co-operation of the Sarikei Football Association and Sarawak State Sports Council.

Sarikei Resident Dahim Nadot is expected to officiate at the opening ceremony today.
