Sabah military personnel ready to face internal, outside threat

PAPAR: Military personnel in Sabah are urged to be constantly ready in facing all kinds of threat from within and ouside the country that jeopardised the country’s stability and sovereignty.

Task Force 450 commander, Major Gen Datuk Ranjit Singh Ramday said the Sulu terrorist instrusion incident in Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu early last month was an unexpected incident that should be a lesson to all strata of the community, particularly security personnel.

“As military personnel, we are ever ready because we do not know when and where the threat will arise, whether it is from within or outside the country,” he told a media conference after the handing over of duties to Major Gen Datuk Masrani Paiman, who took over from him as the new Task Force 450 commander at Lok Kawi camp, here yesterday.

Ranjit will be transferred to Sarawak as First Division Infantry commander.

Present to witness the ceremony was Eastern Region (Sabah Sarawak) commander Lt Gen Datuk Mohd Zaki Mokhtar. — Bernama
