BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Head of South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Dyan Pramono Effendy said the province’s export value in August 2014 dropped again, Antaranews reported.

South Kalimantan export value in August 2014 was 552.35 million USD, down 16.55 percent compared to July 2014. With this condition, the value of exports of the province experienced a decline in three months in a row.

“If the value of exports in July 2014 fell compared to June 2014, and in June 2014 fell compared to May 2014, then fell again in August 2014 compared to July 2014,” said Dyan Pramono in Banjarmasin on Wednesday.

BPS recorded July 2014 export value of 661.90 million USD or down compared to June 2014, and again in August 2014 fell 16.55 percent compared to July 2014.

However, Dyan Pramono said, this August exports rose by 4.18 per cent, if compared with August 2013, when the export value was 530.20 million USD recorded in South Kalimantan.

According to him, the decline in the value of exports of South Kalimantan in August 2014 effected by the continuing lack of improvement in the coal global market, as well as several other factors.
