TAMBUNAN: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan is satisfied with the development projects in the villages here.

“I am satisfied with the quality of the projects,” he said after visiting several government projects in his constituency yesterday.

Pairin, who is also the Infrastructure Development Minister, visited the suspension bridge in Kampung Selibog which is the main route for the villagers, and the Kampung Pupuluton suspension bridge, both built at a cost of RM80,000 each.

The Keningau member of parliament and Tambunan assemblyman also visited Kampung Ulu Monsok roads which need to be repaired.

“On the whole, people do feel comfortable with the development in their villages although there are still some projects that need to be improved such as roads in Kampung Ulu Monsok which were damaged and in need of repair and also Kampung Pupuluton road that requires an upgrade,” he said.

Pairin asked the government departments concerned, especially the Public Works, to repair both roads to make it easier for the villagers to market their crops in town.

He also urged the district office to look into the problem in Kampung Ulu Monsok.

“I hope the government departments in the district can work together to solve this problem for the benefit and welfare of the people in the village.

“I also ask villagers to use all the facilities provided by the government to improve their living standards, especially in the agricultural sector,” he added.

Among those who accompanied Pairin during the visit were District Officer Thomas Logijin and Public Works Department district engineer Nelson George.
