PENAMPANG: Several houses in several areas in Penampang are under several feet of water following the continuous rainfall over the past few days.
Among the areas affected were Kampung Kasigui, Kg. Dambai, Kg. Kolopis and Donggongon town.
Fire and Rescue Services Department public relations officer, Senior Assistant Superintendent Mohd Affendy Ramin, said the water level at the Moyog River was recorded at 10 meters yesterday morning.
“Several areas such as Jalan Kibabaig, Penampang Proper, Kg Kasigui, Kg Dambai and Kg.Kolopis have been completely inundated with flood waters.
“An evacuation centre has been open at the Tun Fuad community hall for flood victims but as of today (yesterday), there has been no evacuation reported,” he said.
Mohd Affendy also said that there has been report of any casualties or missing persons, but assured that the Fire and Rescue Services would continue to monitor the flood situation closely.
