Fuel quota and assistance for Kotabaru fishermen

KOTABARU, South Kalimantan: The government agreed the quota of subsidized fuel to fishermen nationwide as much as 701 thousand kiloliters in December 2014, Antaranews reported.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), Sjarief Widjaja, in the program of improving the lives of fishermen in Kotabaru Monday mentioned this as a result of meeting between PT Pertamina and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

“In order the subsidized fuel to the fishermen right on target, all parties expected to be participating to supervise its distribution,” he said, saying the amount of fuel has been adapted to the needs of fishermen in Indonesia.

Pertaining to well-being, the KKP joint Working Group of Ministry of Cooperatives and Health Ministry stimulate social assistance to fishing communities in Kotabaru.

KKP provides assistance in the field of fisheries sub-sector in the form of eight engines dompeng to eight groups of fishermen, as well as help Rp100 million per group for the development of the Rural Business Development Mina (PUMP) program.

For the field of aquaculture, fisheries PUMP assistance in the form of Rp35juta/group to nine groups, as well as Rp30juta/group to the three treatment groups marketing results.

The Ministry of Health provides occupational health programs and operational support for health community center (Puskesmas) of PPI Saijaan Kotabaru Rp340,6 million.

And personal protective equipment package for fishermen and complementary feeding, also supplementary feeding for school children and pregnant women and health promotion IEC media.

While the Ministry of Cooperatives also provide assistance in the form of building an integrated business service center for cooperatives and fishermen for Rp2,742 billion.
