BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam will be among the Heads of States and Government of the 53 member countries of ASEM from Asia and Europe to attend 10th Asia-Europe Summit Meeting. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has safely arrived in Milan, Italy, for the 10th Asia-Europe Summit Meeting (ASEM) which will be held from October 16 to 17, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.
Present at the Malpensa International Airport, Milan, to greet His Majesty were the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, and the non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to Italy, His Excellency Dato Paduka Zainidi bin Haji Sidup.
Accompanying His Majesty, were His Majesty’s prince and princess, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.
Upon arrival at the Hotel Principe di Savoia, where will be residing during the visit, His Majesty was welcomed by the General Manager of the Hotel, Mr. Ezio Attilio Indiani. Also accompanying His Majesty during the visit is the Second Minister of Finance at the Prime Minister’s Office, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim. This 10th Asia-Europe Summit Meeting will be chaired by the President of the European Council, His Excellency Herman Van Rompuy.
This year’s 10th ASEM Summit agenda will include promoting financial and economic cooperation, addressing global matters and enhancing dialogue and cooperation between Europe and Asia, as well as the future direction of ASEM.
