TUARAN: A double-storey house and sundry shop were yesterday destroyed by fire in Kampung Berungis yesterday.

Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Senior Assistant Superintendent Mohd Affendy Ramin said a distress call was received at 4.22pm and two fire engines with 15 personnel from the Tuaran Fire and Rescue station were sent to the scene.
“Early reports show a house and a sundry shop were destroyed in the incident.
“We managed to put the fire under control by 5pm while the operation ended about an hour later,” he said, adding that the cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
