Monarch arrives in Jakarta to attend Indonesian Presidential Inauguration

JAKARTA, INDONESIA: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, arrived in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia last evening to attend the official inauguration ceremony of the new President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. The ceremony will be held today, Brudirect reported.

Upon arrival at the Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport, Jakarta, His Majesty was greeted by the Director General of Staff Management, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Bagas Hapsoro and the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, Nurul Qomar as well as senior government officials of the Republic of Indonesia.

Also present to greet His Majesty was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Awg Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin.

His Majesty then boarded a motorcade to Grand Hyatt Jakarta Hotel, where His Majesty will reside throughout the duration. Upon arrival at the hotel, His Majesty was greeted by the General Manager of the Hotel, Mr Peter Stettler.

Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam are the Second Minister of Finance at the Prime Minister’s Office, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awg Haji Abd Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim and the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng

Prior to His Majesty’s departure from Brunei Darussalam, a Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr. Ustaz Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Juned, at the Istana Nurul Iman.

Present at His Majesty The Sultan’s Flight Hangar to bid farewell to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik as well as other members of the royal family.
