Minister proposed sustainable Transportation Master Plan

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Efficient road service network and connectivity plays key supporting roles to achieve Wawasan 2035. The Minister of Communications made the speech at the National Forum, Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies, (CSPS) entitled Master Plan for A Sustainable Land Transportation System for Brunei Darussalam, Brudirect reported.

The Master Plan has identified four strategies namely reducing car dependency, keeps traffic moving, Achieving a Sustainable Society and Strengthening Governance.

Yang BerhormatPehin added that in the pipeline is the establishment of the Land Transport Authority, which will further promote the development of the land transport sector in a regulated and sustainable manner. The commitment and efforts of all stakeholders are needed to make the land transport system a stimulus to sustainable economic and social development in Brunei Darussalam.

The forum commenced with the CSPS consultants delivering a presentation on the recently completed Land Transport Master Plan. It was attended by some eighty individuals with interests.
