JITRA: Parents of eight-year-old Nor Aina Syazwana Husna in Kampung Tanjong Kapur here are seeking public donation for their bedridden daughter who is suffering from a rare neurological disease.

Nor Aina, the fourth of six siblings, was diagnosed with Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy Childhood (ANEC), on April 9.

A Amir Abdullah, 44, said his daughter was currently warded at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar after suffering high fever and fallen into coma for 25 days.

He said his daily income of RM40 as a roadside drink seller was insufficient to cover the medical and daily expenses for Nor Aina as his wife, Ku Zarina Ku Bahadun,  39, could not commit herself to find a job as she had to take care of their daughter.

“My daughter needs to consume special milk and wear disposable diapers on daily basis. We need to have over RM500 a month just for that, so I’m really hoping to get some financial help from the public,” he told reporters at his home yesterday.

Donations can be made by contacting A Amir at 011-24011564 or by depositing it into Nor Aina’s Bank Rakyat account number 22-022-144983-7. — Bernama
