Arrest of two brothers paralyses drug supply into village

SIBU: Supply of drugs into Kampung Dato is said to have been paralysed with the arrest of two brothers two months ago at the kampong.

A policeman escorts the elder brother out of the police station.

Police made the arrest following a tip-off received from a public member.

Their investigation showed both brothers were addicted to drugs but it was the elder one who peddled drugs, mostly to teenagers.

The younger brother has been sent to a rehabilitation centre in Sabah.

Yesterday, Narcotics police sent the elder brother to Kuala Lumpur to serve two years in jail.

Meanwhile, a mother of three has lodged a few police reports claiming her under-age daughter was abducted two years ago.

She told police a cook had taken her daughter away since she was 16.

The daughter returned home last month but left with the chef a few days later, she said, adding that she feared for her daughter’s safety.
