SIBU: Customs squeezed past PJHMB team 3-2 on penalty kicks at the final of a 9-a-side football competition at Tun Zaidi Stadium here recently.
The final match came to scoreless end at full time.
With the win, Customs will represent Sibu Division at the state level meet in Miri on Nov 8-10.
As immediate reward, the team received RM1,500 plus a trophy and medals while PJHMB team was given RM800 plus a trophy and medals for being second.
KBJ and Singgah Selalu were the joint third. Each bagged RM400 plus medals.
Manager of Petra Jaya Home Made Burger team Inspector Kushairy Bujang officiated at the prize-giving.
Youth and Sports Office Sibu Division’s sports officer Terence Tan and Taman Rejang Sports and Recreation Club chairman Halel Mohd Ibrahim were also present.
The competition organised by the Youth and Sports Office Sibu Division in ollaboration with Taman Rejang Sports and Recreation Club attracted eight teams.
