SIBU: The 5-metre python reportedly sighted by workers clearing land in Selangau was not pictured in Selangau.
One of the workers, Nia, who had shown the picture to The Borneo Post for publication, clarified yesterday that she did not take the picture of the snake in Selangau.
“I didn’t take the picture of the python. It was taken by someone else, and the snake was not found in Selangau,” she said, apologetically. Nia said she and her fellow workers did see snakes and other wild animals very often while clearing land.
“But, this particular python we never saw. I got the picture from a friend,” she owned up, apologising for her earlier claim that she had photographed the python with her cellphone.
