HANOI, VIETNAM: The 4th ASEAN Senior Officers Meeting on Sports (SOMS-4) has agreed to draft the Sports Sector Framework for the next 5 years, 2016-2020, Brudirect reported.
Towards this, SOMS-4 has agreed to the establishment of the ASEAN Experts Group Meeting on Sports (EGMS) to assist SOMS to draft the sports framework which will be raised in the 3rd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports (AMMS) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August 2015.
The matter was achieved at the meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam which was also participated by the Brunei Darussalam delegation represented by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Hamid Bin Haji Mohd Jaafar.
SOMS-4 has been informed of the organisation of the 1st ASEAN Youth Sports Camp on November 25-29, 2013 and the Under-21 5th Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy (HBT) for ASEAN Youth Football Tournament on August 9-23, 2014 in Brunei Darussalam as the Framework.
The SOMS-4 was also informed that the HBT Tournament 2014 was not only successful in its organisation but also successfully saw youth groups from ASEAN member countries and Timor Leste perform in realising unity and understanding towards achieving the world agenda of Sports for Peace and Development.
The 5th Senior Officers Meeting and 3rd AMMS will be held in Malaysia in 2015.
