BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Three houses in Kampung Bakut Pengiran Siraja Muda “B” in Mukim Peramu in Kg Ayer were destroyed in a fire this afternoon. The incident caused panic in the community living in the sprawling neighbourhood, Brudirect reported.
No one was injured in the disaster. Firemen and rescuers rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 1434 hours, with boats dispatched from the Sungai Kebun and Pelancaran Five Stations. Fire fighters managed to douse the blaze under thirty two minutes.
Consequently, three houses were destroyed, leaving twenty two residents from six families homeless.
The Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Othman, visited the site. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
