MIRI: Berkat Team and Mixture Futsal Team emerged triumphant at the futsal tournament held as sideline to the division’s seventh annual National Youth Skills Intitute (IKBN) convocation recently.
Organised the institute and City Sport, the one-week event kicked off last Oct 21.
Berkat beat IKBN Miri to claim the Men’s title at the finals, leaving Piasau 3 and 4A at third and fourth place, respectively. The victors also bagged RM700, hosting team RM500, and runners-up RM300 each.
Mixture, on the other hand, kicked their way to winning the Women’s title and taking home RM400. Finishing second and third respectively were TGM who received RM300, and UFC, RM200.
According to organising chairman Lee Joon Siong of City Sport, the outing saw 36 teams vying for the Men’s championship title, while nine all-girl line-ups slugging it out to clinch the Women’s trophy. All winning players were also given medals.
Present to hand over the prizes was the institute’s deputy director of students affairs, Mohammad Hafifi Jamaludin.
