KOTA KINABALU: A dying woman with stabbed wounds managed to reveal the identity of her attacker from her Ranau Hospital bed on Wednesday.
Hamida Laka, 29, succumbed to her injuries two hours after she was stabbed with a sharp object at a vegetable farm in Kudat around 3.20pm.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jalaluddin Rahman said the victim managed to tell her brother and a friend that the attacker was her own boyfriend.
“The victim managed to reveal to her brother and a friend that her boyfriend had stabbed her while they were in the farm around 3.30pm.
“She was immediately rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead at 5.10pm,” he said yesterday.
Jalaluddin said that following the description and identity of the suspect, police had arrested the man at 6.40pm the same day in Ranau.
“The 25-year-old suspect however denied being involved in the case and the police have remanded him for further investigation,” he said, adding that the police had also not recovered the weapon yet.
Jalaluddin said based on police investigation they believed jealousy was the motive of the attack.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
