SARATOK: Two Giatmara Saratok students each won a medal at the 10th Asean Skills Competition held in Vietnam from Oct 19-29.

Mimi Faizura Shamsudin won the gold medal for the fashion technology competition, which also came with RM14,000 and a certificate.

Hamdan Majeni bagged the bronze for the brick laying category, along with RM5,000 and a certificate.

They have been automatically selected to represent Malaysia at the World Skills Competition in Sao Paolo, Brazil next August.

Both Mimi and Hamdan attributed their success to the commitment of their trainers Misuri Tuah and Masran Morshidi respectively.

The duo were among 51 candidates representing Malaysia in the competition.

In total the team won nine gold, five silver and four bronze.
