37,488 candidates sitting for SPM in Sarawak this year

KUCHING: A total of 37,488 candidates will be sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination in Sarawak this year, from Nov 3 to Dec 4. Sarawak Education director Serina Sauni in a statement said of the total, 34,833 candidates or 92.92 per cent would be from national secondary schools (SMK), 815 (2.17 per cent) from private secondary schools and the remaining 1, 8 4 0 (4.91 per cent) were private candidates.

The candidates will sit for the SPM examination at 270 examination centres, namely 245 SMK, 12 private secondary schools and 13 private centres throughout the state. All candidates are reminded to bring along their identity card or certification card and the candidate admission slip when coming for the examination. Serina said 168 area invigilators and 2,190 supervisors had been appointed to conduct the SPM examination in Sarawak this year.
