50 trainers obtain training, assessment qualification

KUCHING: Fifty trainers from Skills Development Centres in the country yesterday graduated from the Certificate IV in Training & Assessment course.

The course was conducted by Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) in collaboration with Kangan Institute, Australia.

PPKS chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Hussain officiated at the graduation ceremony here yesterday.

Bendigo Kangan Institute Australia chief commercial officer Kelly Townson and PPKS executive director Datuk Baharudin Abdullah were present.

Baharudin, in his speech, said the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment was a recognised training and assessment qualification.

Of the 50 students who received their certificates yesterday, half were from the May 2013 intake, and the rest from the September 2013 intake.

He said the training modules were designed to meet the current and future needs of new and existing personnel working across the broad range of work functions and activities within the ambit of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

“The graduates will develop skills necessary to create a meaningful learning environment, design learning processes and products, mange the learning process, and develop skills to assess people’s process.”
