Miri fight on despite lack of hockey field

MIRI: They are handicapped by the long-standing problem of having no proper field. But Miri hockey officials and players have again pledged to strive on.

The Warrior Club announced yesterday that they will still be sending two teams to an upcoming tournament in Betong from Nov 15-16. Coach Rudy Naziri told The Borneo Post that he and his team remain determined to identify and develop new talents for the state.

“Unlike in Kuching which have at least three hockey fields, we in Miri carry out all our training on concrete field, yet we are always ready to compete anywhere,” he remarked, in the latest appeal to the government to address the matter.
