PTNSWS delegation calls on Sports Corporation CEO

KUCHING: Sarawak Dragon-Lion Dance and Wushu Association (PTNSWS) officials led by its president Lee King Choon paid a courtesy call on Dr Ong Kong Swee CEO of Sarawak Sports Corporation recently.

During the meeting Lee briefed Ong on development programmes and activities of PTNSWS.

Lee disclosed that through its schools development programmes PTNSWS had recruited more than 1500 members under 28 coaches and assistants from 35 secondary and 24 primary schools in eight divisions in the state namely Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Betong, Mukah, Sarikei, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri.

PTNSWS had also held the Sarawak Inter-School, Borneo Cup, Boulevard, Sarawak Traditional Lion Dance, Sarawak Dragon Dance, Bintulu invitational and Miri Invitational earlier this year.

Lee added that this weekend more than 100 participants are attending the Sarawak Dragon-Lion Dance Coaching & Refereeing course organised to promote dragon-lion dance knowledge and technical expertise amongst dragon-lion dance officials and to create bigger pool of qualified coaches and judges.

Among the PTNSWS delegation for the courtesy call were its Advisor Chester Lim, deputy president Yung Dak Looh, vice president Tiong Ching Chiong, secretary general Fredrick Kueh, treasurer Calvin Kong and technical chairman Nelson Nguang.
