PETALING JAYA: The much-anticipated 22nd Malaysia Property Awards (MPA) 2014, organised by International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) Malaysian Chapter celebrated the achievements of all the ‘big boys’ of the industry.
Founder of Hunza Properties Bhd, Datuk Seri Khor Teng Tong was crowned the ‘Property Man 2014’ while I&P Group Sdn Bhd group managing director Datuk Ir Jamaludin Osman was named ‘Property CEO 2014’ at the awards presentation in One World Hotel here.
A total of 11 awards were presented, honouring the best of the best in the property scene.
The awards were presented by guest-of-honour Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin.
FIABCI Malaysia president Tengku Datuk Ab Aziz Tengku Mahmud was delighted to see a healthy competition in the nation’s real estate industry, noting that participating projects were those of high quality. In addition, he hoped to see more innovative and excellent undertakings by players in the industry.
“The competition was tight this year – all the projects were excellent!”
While organising chairman Dr Yu Kee Su said this year, scoring had been made very difficult for the independent judges.
“It is such a joy to see excellent development projects emerged in the industry. The developers are becoming more thoughtful to homebuyers, as they take into consideration the demand for quality living and greener environment,” he said.
Dr Yu also hoped to see that 11 Malaysian developers with their award-winning projects, would excel in the FIABCI Prix d’ Excellence Awards, to be held in conjunction with FIABCI 66th World Real Estate Congress in Kuala Lumpur next year.
The MPA 2014 was supported by Maybank as the main sponsor, and Oriental Daily News as the official Chinese newspaper.
