BEIJING, CHINA: His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to hold a Bilateral Meeting with the President of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People, Tiananmen Square, Beijing, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.
His Majesty is in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China to attend the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting (AELM) 2014.
The arrival of His Majesty was greeted by the President of the People’s Republic of China.
During the bilateral meeting, His Majesty and His Excellency exchanged views on bilateral relations and efforts to enhance cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China, as well as matters related to regional and international affairs of mutual concern.
Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China established diplomatic relations on September 30 1991. Bilateral cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of China covers a number of areas including, among others, trade and investment, energy, agriculture and defence.
Accompanying the Monarch were the Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abd Rahman Hj Ibrahim and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng.
