Organised by the Monkey Tattoo Studio and supported by OurYouth.my, those interested are welcome to the venue at Le’ Park, where entrance for the expo is free.

According to the organiser, Jeremy Lo of Monkey Tattoo Studio, the expo aims to promote Sarawak traditional tattoo as a form of art and to raise awareness towards the dying art of traditional tattoo.

In addition to that, the expo is to produce new talents and spark interest in Borneo art around the globe and provide a platform for congregation of experts and new artists in order to alleviate the tattoo industry in Sarawak, he added.

“Apart from the tribal style, many talented artists of various styles will be doing the modern style tattoos, colour, portraits, letterings and Oriental styles,” Lo said at a press conference here yesterday.

There will also be competitions to highlight local talents. Like the previous conventions, this expo will be covered by famous tattoo journalist Mik who writes for Tattooweir Magazine, one of the biggest tattoo magazines in Europe. Also covering the expo will be other tattoo journalists from England and Europe.
