Agong officiates at trooping of colours ceremony by two battalions

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah yesterday officiated at the exchange of the trooping of colours ceremony of the 11th and 15th Battalions of the Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD) at the Sungai Besi Camp here.

Urging both battalions to uphold their pledge to ensure the nation was always free from enemy threat, he expressed pride over the performance shown by the battalions in carrying out the trust given by the people.

“As such, I have utmost belief that both batalions will continue to retain the people’s confidence,” he said after a parade here.

Tuanku Abdul Halim also urged soldiers in the battalions to uphold the appreciation and confidence given by the people for the well-being and peace of the nation.

Earlier, he inspected a guard of honour by the two battalions comprising 38 officers and 608 soldiers, headed by 11 RAMD commanding officer, Lt Col Mohd Kamil Abdul Latif and 15 RAMD commanding officer, Lt Col Mat Noh Ngadiman. — Bernama
