Sarawak Bumiputra Tennis Asssociation receives RM20,000 boost

KUCHING: Sarawak Bumiputra Tennis Asssociation (PTBS) got a shot in the arm on Sunday when Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof pledged a RM20,000 grant.

Fadillah made the pledge during the dinner-cum-prize presentation for the YB Datuk Seri Fadillah Cup at the Sarawak Golf Club (KGS).

His announcement was greeted with loud cheers and applause.

“PTBS told me that this tournament was a very much anticipated tournament for Bumiputera players every year. I am honoured,”

“With this grant, I hope PTBS will organise more tournaments and activities in the future,” the Minister added.

Six teams participated in the team tournament held over the weekend at the PTBS Court, Jalan Demak.

Meanwhile during the dinner function, PTBS also celebrated their recent triumph at the President’s Cup in Sibu. PTBS Tournaments and Development Exco member Nur Ashriel Abdullah noted that the association have now won the title three years in a row.

“We won the tournament with young players. We are proud of them as our development programme is showing encouraging signs,” he said.

Also present during the dinnner was PTBS president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Bujang Nor.
