BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Environmentalist organization Forum Komunitas Hijau or Green Community Forum will immediately plant thousands of greening trees during a green festival in the middle of the city of Banjarmasin, Antaranews reported.
In preparatory committee meeting in Banjarmasin on Wednesday they concluded that mass planting will be done in several locations considered to be ideal as a location for greening.
Green festival committee chairman, Mohamad Ary, said tree seedlings will be planted are nut tree, coconut quail, sugar palm, trambesi, bintaro, croton, and red bud trees.
Thousands of tree seedlings is available at FKH nurseries, but if it is insufficient, then the committee will again buy another tree seedlings.
In a green festival 23 to 24 November 2014, tree seeds will be distributed free to the public, who are willing to plant at any location as greening plants, such as roads, housing, schools, places of worship, and anywhere.
They who certainly involve in a mass planting are Tree Lovers Community, Banjarmasin Gardening Community, Antique Bicycle Lovers Banjarmasin (Saban), Kampungku Permataku, students in 20 green school, municipal government agencies associated with greening.
With more and more involved in tree planting will more and more that love environment thus speeding to realize Banjarmasin city as a green city in the country, said Mohamad Ary.
