The motorcycle belonging to the missing youth, found abandoned by the roadside.

According to the youth’s father, Abd Hazid was riding a motorcycle some 70m behind him and his wife on their way home at Kampung Tiris Bekenu that day.

Seeing that he did not turn up later, the parents went back to the route only to find their son’s motorcycle abandoned by the roadside near the plantation.

The father immediately sought help from villagers and police and a SAR – which also involved members of Fire and Rescue Department, Rela and Civil Defence Department – was formed.

Police also mobilised their K9 Unit.

“We are appealing to residents in and around the area to be on the lookout for Abd Hazid, and report to the nearest police station should they find him,” a statement from police said.

The operation continues today.
