KUCHING: Public servants who have delivered outstanding works throughout the year will be honoured with awards at the Sarawak’s annual Civil Service Day to be celebrated on Nov 24 and 25, said Sarawak State Secretary, Tan Sri Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani.

He said Chief Minister, Tan Sri Adenan Satem, would present the awards when officiating the day’s celebration at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), which was expected to be participated by about 5,000 civil servants from throughout Sarawak.

“The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements made by the civil servants across the state as they strive to lead, drive efficiency, think innovatively and help to build a better government,” he told a press conference to announce the celebration here today.

This year’s theme of “Service Excellence through Competent Workforce,” he said would relate to the effectiveness of the core competencies of all the civil servants, who are the catalyst of the state government implementing
machinery of development programmes and projects.

According to him, a one-day forum entitled “Sarawak Public Sector Conference,” would be held on Nov 25 in conjunction with the celebration and to be officiated by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa. -Bernama
