SIBU: A trader charged with slapping an officer from the Parking Section of Sibu Municipal Council was yesterday discharged and acquitted by the magistrates’ court here.
The charge said Wong Liong Hieng slapped and injured Jos Asun with intent to prevent or deter the latter from discharging his duty.
The incident allegedly occurred at the parking area on the ground floor of Sibu Central Market at 9.53am on April 12.
It was said that Jos had issued a summons to Wong for allegedly parking at loading and unloading area.
Wong, who is from Wong King Huo Road, was represented by counsel Yap Hoi Liong.
