Ting landed on the ground after falling from the first floor.
SIBU: A man died after falling from the roof of a first floor workshop located at Lanang Road while repairing a water pipe yesterday morning.
An ambulance was bringing Ting Chang Hung, 55, to hospital when he succumbed to head injuries. He was on the roof with a co-worker when the incident happened around 11am.
Ting was pulling a wire when he stepped on a piece of plastic roofing which broke under his weight. The roof was made of zinc but two pieces had been replaced with plastic to allow light to pass through. A worker said he saw Ting fall onto a metal tool before reaching the ground.
