Kotabaru disallows cars to go outside on Archipelago Day

Kotabaru, South Kalimantan: The Kotabaru Transportation Agency bans cars from outside to go into the district on 14th Archipelago Day or Harnus celebrations in Kotabaru 9-13 December 2014, Antaranews reported.

“Because parking lot is not available in Kotabaru, and you can bet if allowed, there will be congestion,” said Head of Transportation Agency Sugian Noor here on Tuesday.

To help serve guests from outside, the Transportation Agency provides hundreds of units fleet of ground transportation, such as buses, mini buses, car service, and private car.

Sugian Noor expects, 1,000 more units of fleets from outside to come to Kotabaru, especially invited guests from various regions in Indonesia.

Drivers are asked to park in Tanah Bumbu, while invited guests and passengers simply take ferry crossing Batulicin-Tanjung Serdang, Kotabaru.

“We will shuttle guests using buses, mini buses, executive bus, car service, and private cars,” he explained.

To serve the invited guests, committee set up at least 10 Damri buses, dozens of regular buses, executive buses, and hundreds of official cars and private cars.

“As for guests who use air transport, we will coordinate with the Ministry of Transportation and related ministries, to increase flights,” he added.
