SARIKEI: The SMK St Anthony Malaysian Red Crescent recently held an educational trip to Sibu and Miri.

A total of 38 students accompanied by three teachers and a medical assistant from the MRC Sarikei headquarters joined the five-day trip. Teacher BS Yip said the main objective was to deepen their understanding about humanitarian, social and voluntary services.

In Miri the group visited the MRC Haemodialysis Centre and Curtin University, while in Sibu they visited the Agape and Sunflower Community-Based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK).

Yip said interaction with those with special needs at the PDK gave members useful knowledge and experience to enhance their caring attitude and sense of responsibility towards the community.

She thanked the Lions Club, H&L Transport Co and Mau Hing Sdn Bhd for sponsoring the trip.
