Number of straight A students almost doubled

BINTULU: A total of 17 pupils from SK Agama Majlis Islam Sarawak Bintulu scored straight As in the UPSR 2014 compared to only nine in 2013.

The school achieved a 95.29 per cent pass rate, with GPS 1.70 from the 85 candidates for the examination.

Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) vice-chairman Abdullah Bujang, said the results were encouraging which he attributed to their participation in excellence class after school throughout the year. He said the involvement of parents in various programmes organised by the school and PTA motivated the children.

“We are satisfied with the performance this year but we hope for further improvement next year,” said Abdullah.

Among the outstanding candidates were Adriana Ramzi, Ameera Arfa Abdullah, Asmaa Qaerisha Fazniera Merudi, Awang Muhammad Zubir Awang Abdul Kadir, Awangku Haziq Fadli Awangku Masparbu, Dayang Nur Amira Awang Zaini, Elya Batrisyia Shamsani, Hariz Nabil Habiborlah, Mohamed Khaleq Mohamed Taib, Nazatul Athirah Mohamad Iswadi.

Others were Nor Azimah Maslihi, Nur Amirah Japar, Nur Syazwani Rasid, Nurul Shafiqah Zahirah Rosli, Syafiyah Khasiatunnisa Rudy, Syaza Izzati Rozalani and Zarifah Aida Adenan.
