LIMBANG: Who can recall that a Limbang side defeated the visiting Sarawak ‘Ngap Sayot’ team 25 years ago? But Lawas Football Association (LFA) deputy president Alidin @ Brahim Tawar can.

That episode provides an interesting historical backdrop to the friendly match between the current Sarawak Super League team and a Limbang selection on Dec 2.

The Crocs are embarking on a tour of Miri, Limbang and Kota Kinabalu.

“We will use fully this opportunity and hope to create another historical win for LFA like what we did against the Ngap Sayot 25 years ago,” Alidin said yesterday.

Several past state players from LFA will also be playing for the Limbang team in the friendly match.

Alidin hoped that the visit of the state pro team will boost the morale of young local players who could be selected to represent Sarawak one day.

He urged fans here to come out in full force on Dec 2 at the Limbang Sports Complex at 3 pm. Admission is free.

The Crocs will be arriving in Limbang on Dec 1.
