HTC Malaysia has launched the Desire EYE and Re Camera in the local market today. The HTC Desire EYE is retailed at RM1,699 while the Re Camera will be selling at RM699 only.
The HTC Desire EYE is a mid range device that comes with a 5.2 inch Full HD display. It sports a 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor that packs with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. There are also LTE support, NFC and WiFi available. The battery capacity of the Desire EYE is only 2,400 mAh which can be troublesome for heavy users. The HTC Desire EYE is leveled with high end smartphone whereby it comes with water resistance feature that is rated at IPX7 which the device is able to sustain in one metre deep water for 30 minutes.
The main focus of the Desire EYE lies on its camera. The rear side of the device presents a F/2.0 13 megapixel camera with dual LED which can record 1080p video. What make this unit standout from its counterparts is the 13 megapixel front facing camera that has a wider 20 mm lens and f/2.2 aperture. The Desire EYE’s EYE camera experience will be enhanced with a bunch of new camera features for HTC.
The RE Camera is a periscope alike device that sports a 16 megapixel Sony camera with f/2.8 aperture which has a 146 degree wide angle lens.It has a IPX7 water resistance. The camera also has the ability to take still shots. Besides that, it can record Full HD videos in 30 fps or HD videos up to 120fps. Its 820 mAh on board battery is capable to take 1,200 photos or 1 hour 40 minutes long video. It supports Android and iOS devices.
