SIBU: The Sibu Ping Pong Association (SPPA) is sending a 56-strong paddlers and officials to the 54th Sarawak Open table tennis championship in Sarikei from Dec 9 to 12.
Its chairman Dr Clement Chen said the team had set a modest target of at least five gold medals.
‘It’s not easy this time around as other divisions are also sending their best, including several national players,” he said at a flag handing over ceremony recently.
Chen reminded the players on the spirit of participation in the championship.
“Always lend your vocal support to your teammates when they are playing as your support will inspire them to win,” he said, urging them to leave their handphones aside during matches.
