Police crackdown errant motorists on Ops Tegas II

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A two hour joint operation involving the Bangar Police Station and traffic control and investigation department of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) has apprehended fifteen drivers for not buckling up while driving along Jalan Estate in Temburong District, Brudirect reported.

The operation was part of the nationwide crackdown on errant motorists and crime prevention.

Codenamed ‘OperasiTegas II’, the nationwide procedure is targeting the areas of Kuala Lurah, the Beribi Industrial area as well as Jalan Estate.

The Sengkurong Police Station also conducted a roadblock however no offences were recorded. At Jalan Mengarang, Muara police personnel recorded nine compound cases, one docket case and conducted sixteen stop and search. The traffic control and investigation department issued nine compound fines during the roadblock in Jalan Beribi.

Meanwhile in the Tutong District, authorities have issued two compound fines along Jalan Kiudang while in Jalan Bukit Barun in Lamunin.

In Kuala Belait, three compound cases were recorded at Jalan Tengah Anduki. As a preventive measure the immediate response squad was on patrol for crime prevention and detection. The Traffic Control and Investigation branch of Batu 3 Seria issued seventeen compound fines at their operation in Jalan Tengah F3, F4.
