Kenanga announces new heads of treasury and wealth management

KUCHING: Kenanga Investment Bank Bhd (Kenanga Investment Bank) announced recently the appointments of Stantley Tan Boon Teck as its director, head of Treasury and Teh Cheah May as its director, head of Wealth Management.

According to Chay Wai Leong, group managing director, K & N Kenanga Holdings Bhd (Kenanga Group), “We are confident the appointments of both Tan and Teh will further strengthen Kenanga Investment Bank’s Treasury and Wealth Management divisions respectively.

“With their proven track records and expertise, these two professionals are well suited to take our businesses to the next level”.

Tan joins Kenanga with 22 years of experience in Treasury and Markets, of which 16 years were with Citigroup.

Tan will be responsible for leading the Treasury division in Kenanga and will further develop its risk taking and sales revenue drivers, including product development.

He was previously the country treasurer and head of Markets for Citibank Bhd, responsible for risk taking activities and customer sales coverage in interest rates and foreign exchange.

Prior to this, Tan was based in Tokyo as the country treasurer and head of Risk Treasury for Citi in Japan.

His earlier roles included being based in Citi Singapore as the regional co-head of Risk Treasury Asia, with oversight on Citi’s respective local currency money market desks and accrual balance sheet exposures across Asian emerging market countries.

Teh brings to Kenanga 19 years of experience in domestic and international wealth management.

As the head of Wealth Management at Kenanga, she will be responsible for the growth of the wealth management business, spearheading the development of the distribution capabilities in the High Net Worth segment and overseeing the progress of its digital platform, KenWRAP.

Teh was previously the general manager for HL Bank, Singapore, where she further developed their regional private banking business.

She has also led the High Net Worth and Affluent Banking and Wealth Management business in Maybank Bhd.

Prior to that, she had successful tenures in HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd and AmMerchant Bank Bhd.
